Forbes is reporting that, "Earlier this month, McDonald’s announced the nationwide roll-out of touchscreen self-service kiosks." However, McDonalds is not alone in the quest to replace laborers with robotic solutions. Starship Technologies is putting self-driving robotic delivery vehicles (pictured below) on the streets San Francisco to deliver groceries to consumers. Advocates of a $15 an hour minimum wage appear to be inadvertently driving technological progress.

Today is the last day for submitting nominations for your favorite science fiction and fantasy works for Hugo Award consideration at this years MidAmerican II Worldcon. However, if the work you intend to place into nomination is not hardcore left-wing dreck, you can expect both the work and its author to be openly disparaged on stage at the awards ceremony, based on the behavior of last year's hosts.
The nomination period for the 2016 Hugo Awards closes in a week. If you have a science fiction work you would like to nominate for consideration in the rigged no-awards farce, you have until March 31 to submit.
Sakura-Con runs March 25 to March 27 at the Washington State Convention Center. The anime convention pulled in over 23,000 attendees last year. By contrast, last year's disastrous WorldCon had way less than five thousand paying members.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Studio's has claimed in court to have copyrighted the Klingon language used in the Star Trek television series, movies, cartoons, etc.
Paramount is also asserting a copyright claim on gold colored shirts and pointy ears. Nope, not kidding.
*This means "Call the police!" in Klingon. The phrase is short enough to qualify for a fair use defense. At least, that's what I hope.
