WARRIORESS STAR: Lady Jayne Seymour Fonda (aka Jane Fonda, aka 41st century astronaut Barbarella) born December 21, 1937.
IS IT OPPOSITE DAY?: Natalie Portman claims that Star Wars nearly ended her career by convincing people that she was a horrible actress.
SUPERMAN EYES: Bionic eye: 3D printing merges contact lens and QLEDs Princeton has successfully used a LED 3D printer to put quantum dot LEDs into contact lenses. The resulting lenses can beam colored lights out of your eyes! Should be great for finding the keyhole after coming home late at night or for reading the latest Grimnoir novel under the covers. Next up, X-ray vision and laser beams?
MOONMAIL: Astrobotic is now offering MoonMail™, a package delivery service to the moon. Their current postage rate is $1,200,000.00 (nonrefundable) per kilogram. However, smaller items that can fit in a 1/2 inch wide Moon capsule can ship for as little as $460.00. Overnight and second day delivery is not being offered at this time.

TIME LOST: A Hot Tub Time Machine sequel is coming. How dystopian is that? So if I had myself a time machine, I think my highest priority would be going back in time and preventing the filming of the original Hot Tub Time Machine. The Hot Tub Time Machine 2 Official Trailer 2 is below.
UNITED NATIONS IN SPACE: NASA’s Chief Scientist: The Future of Space Exploration Is International Partnerships Slate magazine reposted an article from something called the Weekly Wonk this week about global government in space. The article quotes Ellen Stofan, the Chief Scientist of NASA, telling us that, “When we go to explore, we do it as a globe.” That's a strong argument for the privatization of space exploration.
SYFY SCIFI: Brian Van Holt, the star of Cougar Town, plays the role of Captain William Denninger, tasked with piloting the starship Ascension to a habitable world. The ship, launched into space in 1963, is on a century long mission to deliver hundreds of "best and brightest" colonists to the new planet. Curiously, the actors selected to play the "best and the brightest" don't appear to be especially bright.

BLACK SCIFI: The Black Science Fiction Society highlights, celebrates and develops black science fiction, speculative fiction, fantasy & horror. They have a well structured website with sections for chat, an events calendar, videos, books, and comics. You can also check out Genesis Science Fiction Magazine online. The summer/fall 2014 issue is currently available to preview. They have a Facebook page as well with items about upcoming writers' workshops, film festivals, and documentary films presentations, among other things.
XMAS SCIFI: A green alien super-being arrives on Mars to save a baby on Christmas while wearing a Santa Claus suit. Film characters are played by members of The Flaming Lips rock band. Think of the film as though it was Charlie Brown's Christmas tree. It just needs a little help. Okay, so it needs a lot of help.
TURKSPLOITATION: You thought it was going to be Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, didn't you? Admit it. As excruciatingly awful and cringe-inducing as The Quest for Peace was, that one doesn't hold a candle to the Turkish mockbuster Supermen dönüyor, aka Turkish Superman. The flying scene with a Ken doll in a Superman suit has to be seen to be believed. You can watch the entire trainwreck below.
DARTH VADER MEETS ZUCO: Os Trapalhões na Guerra dos Planetas, roughly translated by Google Translate as Bilko in The War of the Planets, is a Brazilian parody of Star Wars. It's kinda hard to say which film in the series is being ripped off, but my guess is it's a take off of the original 1977 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. You can watch the entire 88 minute Brazilian movie version below.
