YEAH SCIENCE: Brave New World, a science fiction novel written by Aldous Huxley way back in 1931, described controlling humans through the use of drugs and special conditioning. Gizmodo reports that it may also be possible to control carpenter ant behavior through selective drug use. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have successsly developed drugs that can increase or decrease the amount of foraging work performed by the ants. Gizmodo speculates that in time we may be able to make pigs cure and fry themselves.
